diy stud party

my sister and friend rei had a stud party the other day at our apartment. my sister bought studs a few weeks ago, and since then she has been studding just about everything. my favorite so far are the masimo target black heels now turned in to jeffrey campbell influenced studded pumps (photo below). the other day they made a day of it, starting out at the thrift shop in search of levi's "mom jeans" to cut for shorts and rei found this great denim shirt that he cut into a summer vest. here's a lil photo diary of our stud party..

happy spring

happy spring! so excited to be in shorts again. this past week i got a new tattoo with my sister and grandmother for her 90th birthday! it was my gram's idea to get roses with 7/11 underneath in remembrance of my grandfather who passed away 11 years ago on seven eleven. my grandma made me promise that when i turn 90, i will do something just as exciting! she's the coolest grandma. i love her so much.. her stay in vegas went by way too fast, as time always does.

in celebration of spring, i added many new colors to my bracelet collection. below is a preview of my favorites that will be available on my

etsy

page later this week.

diy skull cutout tights

my sister is obsessed with skulls and recently bought a cutout skull tee from urban outfitters, which led her to this do it yourself project at home. all she used was a pair of tights and scissors and began cutting out a skull face in the top part of her tights. she only cut out a small hole for the face, and then ripped through the rest. i told her she's going to have to start making all sorts of cutout designs for me this spring! love this look.

also, if you like skulls check out the skull bracelets i made, now available on my etsy shop.

the dreamer bracelet

i set up my first etsy shop last week! i started making bracelets with the classic letters "dreamer" on them and because i was getting so many compliments when i was out with them on, i decided to make more and put them up for sale. right now they come in set of three beaded bracelets in the assortment of colors: gold, rose gold, silver, and black. check out the shop and let me know what you think! will be posting more bracelets soon.. http://www.etsy.com/shop/nikdreamer

road trip west: 9 days, 9 cities

it's official!! my family has packed up everything, sold their house in NY, and moved west. this summer my parents bought a house in Scottsdale, Arizona, while my sister and i will be moving into an apartment in Las Vegas on September 1st! we tried to make the cross country trip as enjoyable as possible by stopping in many different cities along the way. we left Albany on August 22nd and arrived in Las Vegas August 30th. in 9 days we visited, Hershey, PA, Lynchburg, VA, Nashville, TN, memphis, TN, Checotah, OK, Amarillo, TX, Acoma, NM, Flagstaff, AZ. my favorite city was Nashville! that city has the best bars/food/live music, i just loved it. Flagstaff was another favorite, but we had a blast stopping at all the cities along the way.. also met some great people in the campgrounds that we stayed in. i hope to visit some of the cities again soon, but for now i'm ready to start a new life in VEGAS!

here is a little photo diary of our adventure..

countdown

in 15 days i will be relocating to LAS VEGAS!! my sister and i are moving into a gorgeous modern apartment complex located on las vegas boulevard between mandalay bay and south point. i had a chance to visit the apartment when i was there in april and absolutely fell in love.

this is the biggest move i've ever made so i've been preparing myself months for it. i couldn't be more excited to start a new life out west! if anyone knows of any job opportunities in pr, marketing, promotions, or event planning in las vegas, please do let me know. i'll be there very soon!

before and after

last month when my family and i were preparing for our garage sale, we came across these old brass candlesticks. instead of getting rid of them, we decided to give them a modern update. with one coat of primer, two coats of glossy black spray paint, and some white candlesticks, they'll be the perfect addition to my dining room table.
